Nine years ago, Nancy took the first official step toward building what would become SCRAP B-More by signing a fiscal sponsorship agreement. That moment laid the groundwork for what was to come, but the real magic began on July 14, 2016, when she opened the doors to the very first SCRAP B-More location on Charles Street. That’s the day we—and the community—recognize as SCRAP B-More’s true anniversary.
From that first location to their current creative reuse center in Pigtown on W. Barre Street, SCRAP B-More has become a vital part of Baltimore’s reuse and arts community. In the early days, it was just Nancy and a dedicated group of volunteers holding everything together. Their passion and persistence made it possible for the store to grow and thrive. Today, SCRAP B-More has a strong team: Nancy—Site Director, Kacey—CRC Coordinator, Erica—Edu & Reuse Specialist, and Jess—Reuse Specialist. Together, they bring new energy, fun, creativity, and connection to the store and to their community.
We’re so proud of how far SCRAP B-More has come and excited for what’s next. The commitment, grit, and heart that Nancy and the team bring to their work is something truly special—and it shows in every creative reuse project, every workshop, and every smiling customer.
Congratulations Nancy and B-More on 9 years of reuse magic! Here’s to many more.
