SCRAP Board Members: Leadership & Creative Reuse

We’re excited to share that our Board is actively engaging through several key committees that are already supporting and strengthening SCRAP’s work and long-term goals. These committees are guiding strategy, building organizational capacity, and deepening our impact across all programs and sites. Notably, the former Grants & Fundraising Committee has evolved into the Development Committee, and the Operational Excellence Committee is working alongside a cross-site staff work group to review and build out SCRAP’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Our active Board committees include:

  • Development
  • Operations Excellence
  • Education
  • People & Culture
  • Board Recruitment
  • Finance

Board of Directors

We’re excited to introduce the ten individuals serving on SCRAP’s Board—bringing together nonprofit leadership, financial expertise, creative energy, and a shared dedication to reuse, education, and community.

Christina_Lee.png

Christina Lee, Board Chair

Problem solver. Connector. Serial planner. Christina Lee brings over 10 years of nonprofit leadership experience to the Board, where she focuses on building strong teams, meaningful programs, and people-centered solutions. From streamlining policies to launching new initiatives, Christina leads with collaboration and heart.
Originally from New York and now based in Baltimore, Christina loves hunting for yarn, jewelry, and beads at SCRAP Bmore.

Rachel_Kassman.png

Rachel Kassman, Vice Chair

Rachel brings more than a decade of nonprofit grants experience to her role as Vice Chair, along with a deep appreciation for the behind-the-scenes work that keeps organizations thriving. She’s passionate about supporting SCRAP’s long-term success and helping strengthen a stable, sustainable financial foundation.
An avid crafter, cook, and budding plant parent, Rachel first connected with SCRAP as a volunteer and is excited to keep creativity and impact growing as a Board leader.

Kim_Chiarchiaro.png

Kim Chiarchiaro, Secretary

A NYU graduate with a lifelong love of creative communities, Kim brings curiosity, care, and hands-on reuse magic to the Board. With her kids grown, she’s diving into crafting, volunteering, and dreaming up new ways everyday materials can live a second—or third—life.
A SCRAP RVA original from the Stuff Redux days, Kim has supported the organization as a volunteer, donation driver, and now Board Member, always on the hunt for her next great reuse project.

Karen_Rivenberg.png

Karen Rivenburg, Treasurer

After retiring from a career in corporate finance, Karen is putting her number-crunching skills—and her love of crafting—to great use as SCRAP’s Treasurer. Her favorite hobby? Collecting craft supplies (thanks, SCRAP!) and turning them into cards, party décor, and creative details for celebrations.
Raised in Anchorage and calling Oregon home since 1981, Karen also enjoys reading, organizing, wine tasting, and traveling with her husband.

Jessica_Cichowlas.png

Jessica Cichowlas, At-Large

Originally from southeast Michigan, Jessica has built her career around nonprofit work that strengthens community and inspires social impact. She is also the owner of BYOC, a bulk, environmentally conscious, zero-waste business.
Through SCRAP, Jessica brings together her passions for sustainability and creativity, championing reuse, repurposing, and a future with less waste—both at work and at home.

Tieast_Leverett.png

Tieast Leverett, At-Large

By day, Tieast leads Business Resource Group and volunteer programs at Stellantis, helping employees across North America build connection, inclusion, and purpose through service. Outside of work, she is the creative force behind Muleshyne, a studio rooted in family legacy, storytelling, and sustainability.
She also serves as Vice President of the NICU Parent Network, blending advocacy with lived experience as a preemie mom. At SCRAP, Tieast brings collaboration, creativity, and a deep belief in the beauty of what already exists.

Regan_Choffin.png

Regan Choffin, At-Large

Regan brings finance and revenue expertise to the Board, along with a very serious commitment to keeping craft supplies—and LEGOs—in their proper places. Their SCRAP journey began during the pandemic with a craft pack that taught them how to knit.
An Ohio native now living in Oregon for the weather (yes, really), Regan is known for goofy sweaters, wonky blankets, and enjoying board games and books to the soothing soundtrack of heavy rain.

Rajah_Daughtry.png

Rajah Daughtry, At-Large

A lifelong crafter and proud 804 native, Rajah loves turning ideas into hands-on experiences. With a background in teaching, she believes crafting can connect creativity, learning, and community.
Drawing on her experience at VCU, Rajah helps build bridges between academic spaces and the wider crafting community, fostering sustainability, accessibility, and joy through making.

Erin_Long.png

Erin Long, At-Large

Erin’s first love is rescuing animals, with crafting coming in a very close second. By day, she works in marketing, fundraising, and development for an animal shelter in the Baltimore area, advocating for homeless animals and building community support.
In her free time, Erin can be found cross-stitching, creating mosaics with SCRAP finds, refinishing furniture, or treasure hunting at flea markets with her husband.

Caitlin_Burr.png

Caitlin Burr, At-Large

A Metro Detroit native, Caitlin brings over a decade of experience in educational support and community-building. She’s also a business owner, food entrepreneur, gardener, cat mom, and food rescue champion.
After moving to Ann Arbor, SCRAP became the perfect place to combine her love of art and environmentalism. She’s especially fond of the container section, fabric wall, and scrapbooking supplies—and is always thinking about how creativity and reuse can build stronger communities.
