Collage Art, Zine Making, DIY Envelopes, and How to Make CD Spinners - Creative Reuse Inspiration from SCRAP!
At SCRAP, we hope to inspire creativity and reuse through our affordable materials and educational programs. We’ve got some fun creative reuse craft inspiration videos on our YouTube and our Online Workshops are a great way to find some crafty time!
Our Zine Making + DIY Envelopes Workshop is just one of the online private workshop offerings we have available, but we are so excited for it! This workshop is great for ages 8+ and lets creators make their own mini magazine. You can tell a story, write a How-To, or create a beautiful piece of art. With the fun DIY Envelopes made from reuse calendars, these are a great project to inspire your pen pal mailings!
Check out our workshop introduction to learn a little bit more about zines!
Here’s some more crafty ideas for ya!
Collage Art!
All you need for some fun collages are some old magazines, scissors, and glue. Collaging and creating new artworks from reuse materials is a great way to relax and spend some time crafting. You could make a vision or inspiration board, artwork to send a friend, or something to put on your wall! SCRAP’s got you covered with reuse supplies for great collage art!
CD Spinners!
These fun simple reuse crafts are great for all ages. Be careful with the glue gun, but kiddos can still enjoy decorating their spinners and learning about the process to make their own! This activity is a great way to reuse old CDs and gives the kids a fun new toy to spin around for a bit!
You’ll Need:
CDs
Hot Glue
Marbles
Plastic caps
Permanent Markers
Steps:
Color and decorate the shiny side of your CDs
Glue the marble in the center hole. Make sure it pokes out the bottom (not shiny) side more so it spins!
Glue the plastic cap on top of the marble on the top side you decorated. This will be what you hold to spin your CD spinners!
