Meet Sarah Dooley of Portland, Oregon and see some of her mixed media artwork that uses reuse materials. Dooley works as the Education Coordinator of SCRAP PDX, a role she's been in since April 2019.
What drew you to SCRAP?
I have been a customer at SCRAP for about 17 years since I was an art student, and later as an art instructor. I love the treasures here and that I can afford them!
Do you do any reuse art or any other creative venture you’d like to share?
I am a mixed media artist and often reuse materials in my work. My work includes abstract paintings, collage, bookbinding and assemblage.
What are some of your interests and goals?
I am interested in building community and bringing healing through art. I am passionate about decolonizing the art process, keeping the arts accessible, and helping individuals tap into their own unique abilities to create.
